Points to Ponder

Welcome October!

After an extremely rainy and dreary September, we finally got a gorgeous fall day here in PA. Sunny, fairly warm, and with a light breeze–we couldn’t ask for a more beautiful October day. Even though it’s past the 1st day in October, I wanted to list some of the things I’m looking forward to this month and this fall in general:

Fall foliage. I never realized how much I took this for granted until I heard the viewpoint of someone who grew up in a climate where the seasons don’t really change.

Wearing jeans and sweaters again.

Pretty pumpkins!

Apples–picking them, eating them, apple pie, applesauce, apple butter, …..

Soup weather. My best friend and I both swear we could eat some kind of soup every day. Now that it’s not 100 degrees and humid out, I feel like making soup more often.

Warm drinks. I’m a total coffee girl (black, please!), but I also dig my hot teas, cocoa, and hot apple cider.

Halloween candy and treats. I’m not very into Halloween itself, but I’m a sweet tooth and can’t resist those cutely packaged little goodies! Wow, that’s a lot of food-type things on my list. It’s a good thing I also enjoy exercising outside in the fall, huh?

That’s my general list. I’ll quickly add that I also love what I call good sleeping weather. We often crack a window in our bedroom at night to let in that crisp feeling air. Now, how about you? What do you love about the fall?

  1. Oh my word … everything! Brisk air, crunchy colorful leaves, hayrides, pumpkins, mums, Caramel Apple Spice at Starbucks (!), all things apple, flannel, back to school, gorgeous sunsets, what’s NOT to love??? =)
